On Sunday, I had the pleasure of shooting Emika and Haj’s wonderfully unique wedding. When they came to meet with me at our initial consultation, they had this delightful vision of a simple afternoon tea where they could mingle with their guests, enjoy some great food and treat their families to a great time. With the help of the amazing Kelly Gin of Picture Perfect Events, the wedding was everything Emika and Haj dreamed of. Lavender Hill designed the beautiful (and colorful!) flowers and Patina catered the delicious tea sandwiches, pastries and tea! I had the pleasure of bringing Jeff Lawler as my second shooter. The perfect day ended with a big surprise for their guests – In ‘N Out for everyone!
A couple of details –

The flower girl and ring bearer were quite the pair. Sarah walked down the aisle and, naturally, dropped petals, but Alex apparently thought is was his job to pick them all up on his way down!

It was a traditional Buddhist ceremony on a beautiful day!

Strangely enough, there was a small row of vineyards across the street from the venue, so we took advantage of it. Emika said something that was really interesting, which is that a really imaginative photographers can make something so small (like a vineyard in a parking lot!) seem like the fantasy. I hope I gave it to them!

The vineyard was cool, but I had been eyeing this empty banquet room all day –

Their reception was adorable! They had individual cakes as centerpieces for each table. The tables were each named after a different variety of tea and guests were given escort cards tied to little jars of tea! –

The happy couple making their grand entrance –

A toast –

And Emika and Haj enjoying their little post-wedding treat!

To Emika and Haj: I had such a lovely time sharing tea with you! Enjoy Europe!
delightfully,
